If you've been following my blog for a bit, you know how much I like my "happy mail". Lucky me, the past few days I've had surprises from blogger friends!
The first was from Marianne at Adventurous Quilter.
She's helping me collect 4 inch squares for my I Spy Quilt WIP that I'm making for our new grandson. I'm sooo lucky as she has the best "boy" fabric and having raised girls, this is a god-send! My husband always enjoys when her little packages arrive in the mail, and is the first to spread out all the squares! (Boys!) Marianne and I both started blogging this summer, and became fast blogger friends. We each keep a basket in our studio to collect/cut I-spy squares for one another. Every now and then, we'll drop one of these little packages in the mail to surprise the other with new I-Spy squares.
I also won this during the Blog Hop of Give-Aways in November from Angie at Quilting Readers Garden and it just arrived today!
And, every Christmas my parents always renew my Quilting Magazine.
(Thanks guys) My notice arrived in-between all the bills.
I'm silly...I know. But life really is about the little things.
And don't ya just love getting fun stuff in the mail?
Make your confessions here...what's your favorite Happy Mail?
(I promise not to tell your husband,)
With smiles!
Val:)
Oh how much fun is that...Lots of great happy mail.
ReplyDeleteYes! And was so happy to be able to send you some as well! Hope you enjoy using your hexi template.
DeleteMy favorite "happy" mail is a handwritten letter. But your right, its the small things that are truly important. Just an FYI about things that make me happy (& this occurs around Xmas, birthday or anytime you'd get a gift or something to unwrap) I love "unwrapping" anything. It can be a piece of bubble gum wrapped, a box that arrives in the mail, whatever it is that simply needs to be "unwrapped." The "surprise" to discover what's inside gets me excited. Ha! Have a good week, dear friend, & keep warm. Victoria
ReplyDeleteDitto dear friend! I actually have saved numerous letters my Granny and mom have wrote me. I just find such comfort in their handwriting. I laugh in thought of your unwrapping the Hexi's I'm going to teach you how to make. I'm going to triple wrap them!! LOL!!!
DeleteOH!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE those squares for your ispy quilt! It is looking so good!!!! Thank you mom :)
ReplyDeleteYou bet girl!
DeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. I am now going to hunt for some boy fabric for the I spy quilt for you. I bet I have some. Fabric is the most fun surprise thing to get. Sometimes my sewing friends will leave a small bag of scaps on my doorstep and what a treat to see when I get home. So impressed with all you get done.
ReplyDeleteDona...what a treat to have friends drop bags of scraps off!!!
DeleteI agree the little things are the best-and I love getting mail too-I just love that.
ReplyDeleteps I am having a christmas giveaway right now-so please come by and sign up
Done...what a generous give-away! Keeping my fingers crossed!
DeleteYay for happy mail!
ReplyDeleteYipee Val!! I'm sure that Marianne will love reading your post. She's talked about her I Spy partner several times. She gets pretty animated when she finds fabrics that are great for that. I volunteer with Marianne for the Green Bag Lady and we all chat about sewing, fabric and quilting while we work.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this note Tami! I also checked out the Green Bag Lady and am now inspired to make some fun bags for grocery shopping! Marianne also made a cool wine carrier...need to make one of those too!
DeleteHappy mail...indeed... to my years past college friend..what an amazing quilter you are!...youve always inspired me!
DeleteBeautiful, creative and talented...thats you!!! Love to see all your quilts.. Enjoying a cup of coffee...reminiscing !
Love this time a year to say hello....and Merry Christmas!! From warm Tucson, Evelyn
