This week's theme is: Receiving Blankets
I love picking up 1 1/4 yards of cordinating baby flannels to make receiving blankets for newborns. With right sides together, weyajust sew the two pieces of adorable flannel fabrics together together. Turn them right side out and add a decorative stitch around the perimeter. TaDa! You have a quick, cuddly baby gift that new moms love and appreciate. Doesn't it seem like just yesterday our little grandguy was a newborn and now look at him at 20 months old already!
I love that he still uses his blankie. |

Lovely blanket Val... and a cute baby :-)
ReplyDeleteYour little guy is certainly a cutie! Love the receiving blanket too! Do you prewash the flannel?
ReplyDeleteDoes Jackson have a blankie?
ReplyDeleteOh course! He has his very own quilt! LOL!
DeleteAw, cute! I haven't made receiving blankets, but my mother used to. She would buy flannel sheets and cut them in four to get a better size blanket. Then she would press the hem and do a crochet shell (i think it was called, a very simple stitch) stitch around it. I used them for my two children and now older daughter has used it for her son. They would hold up for several more babies. Alas, no photos. But photos of 2 yo are here: knitnkwilt.wordpress.com
ReplyDeleteI haven't made any receiving blankets, but I've seen some really cute ones. Looks like your little guy really likes his.
ReplyDeleteYour grandson is such a handsome little man. I can't believe he's already 20 months old. Looks like he sure loves his flannel blankie!
