Next Jan. OMG Anne Downs Flimsy Finish!

A year and half ago I set out to stitch this adorable BOM by Anne Downs called
Dancing Chickens and Flying Pigs. I've had so much fun stitching it and sharing it's progress with you here on the blog. It's kinda exciting to see it finally transform into a flimsy, ready to be quilted.
It's finished size is about 48"x 50" and I plan on keeping the quilting simple by
using a running stitch, just sewing 1/4" on each side of every seam.
Maybe a few quilted butterflies will find themselves fluttering from one block to the other...we shall see. It's just one those happy finishes we often can't wait to enjoy having hang in our home soon.
Sharing with everyone else at Kathy's Slow Sunday Stitching linky.

  2. And they say pigs don't fly!! Well at this very moment they are flying around your quilt clapping their little trotters and those chickens are flapping their wings dancing a merry jig. =) Each and every block, lovely Val, is oozing charming whimsy and fun. How beautiful each block is. There is so much to capture the eye and to make one smile. I love the thought of simple seam quilting and if there is a butterfly or two....or three fluttering around, then that would be perfect. You will have fun quilting this pretty. Enjoy♥

  4. What a fun quilt! Question though...do you think just quilting 1/4" from the seams will be enough to hold it together for long? You put so much work into it and all the applique/embellishments are heavy and I would be concerned about them pulling the fabric down and creating a droop in the blocks. I would hate to see that happen after all the gorgeous work you have put into each block!!
