The first rainy day of Fall....just makes everything feel so much better!
New slippers in the mail from my mom also keep my toes warm for a cozy afternoon of binding.
I have found teaching in a comprehensive distant model to be weirdly exhausting emotionally.
Zoom, Google Meets are common place forms of communication and teaching.
By the weekend, I'm just done. I hoping as the rain clears tomorrow to go for a long mountain hike to enjoy the fresh air, beautiful Fall leaves and rejuvenate my heart and head. How about you.? How do you keep yourself rejuvenated as we continue to find ourselves living a new normal?
With Smiles! Val
It's so nice today! Chilly, but crisp and fresh. Snow in the mountains. Hope you can find a way to regenerate after all those online classes. I can only imagine how hard that is. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteI love the fall! Any excuse to get outside is used, and that helps calm me. I have such respect for all you teachers and believe that you are exhausted!
ReplyDeleteOh, Val, I can't imagine how hard it must be to teach (or learn!) remotely. So much of education is human interaction, face to face. My heart goes out to all the hard working teachers! My quilting continues to rejuvenate my spirit, the creative work of combining colors and patterns is soothing and stimulating at the same time. It's also a good way for me to give back to the community, since as you know we're always on the move so it's hard to volunteer otherwise :)
ReplyDeleteJust getting back to reading my favorite bloggers. It is a foggy morning and the trees are starting to turn colors. I love autumn!
ReplyDeleteI have missed you, Val! Nice to see you blogging again. This distance learning is so hard on everyone involved — teachers, students, AND parents. Pandemic isolation has been like moving back and forth through the stages of Grief. Some days are better than others. It’s easier for me to find motivation for quilting because progress feels good. Cleaning? Not so much! I confess that my family is living in a home so dusty, my living room looks like it’s the TV set for The Munsters... Okay, not THAT bad, but with the days and weeks and months running together now it feels like didn’t I just do the laundry/clean the bathroom/dust the living room YESTERDAY?
ReplyDeleteI'm struggling with rejuvenation ATM. I think getting the election over and done with will help. But it's been a big few weeks here with a drive to San Francisco and back in 5 days to renew my passport and I'm weary, so I'm giving myself time. Marianne
