Not that I need another project....but I can't help it!
(Life's more fun having multiple projects going on at once!!)
I never thought of creating an I-Spy quilt untill 1. I now have a grand-baby to quilt for and 2. Marianne at Adventurous Quilter not only inspired me, but swapped 50 squares with me!!! (Marianne, you saved me! Serious! Raising daughters, I have a "stash" of Hello Kitty, not Ninja Turtles!! My husband was reminiscing as he thumbed through the squares she sent! LOL!!!)
So here they are on my design wall. My daughter and son-in-law come home for a visit next week (yes...I get more Grandma time) But they are looking forward to picking out fabrics to "fill in" the quilt. (And Marianne, know I'll cut doubles of the fabrics they pick to send your way!)
I am creating a BIG red heart in the middle and
I also have a quilt tag to add that says:
Also for more on labeling your quilts (which I am admittedly terrible at!) Check out Willet's link-up at: heysislookwhatimade as she has been so very creative to think of a Label Linky Party. I'll be following to hopefully get inspired to start labeling my quilts!
Happy WIP!
With smiles,
Val:)

What a fun quilt this is going to be! I have always wanted to do one, and now I know I'll finally brave it when I have a grandbaby (YEARS away, I pray!).
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to have a heart in the middle.
I Spy quilts are the most fun... looks like you have lots of great charms!
ReplyDeleteIspy are so much fun! Those little tags are lovely too.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to make an I Spy quilt at some point! They are so much fun!
ReplyDeleteLove those quilt tags...
ReplyDeleteThanks guys...i'm finding they are really fun to collect fabric for! And will be easy to sew.
ReplyDeleteThat quilt is beyond fun! Awesome. Stopping by from WIP Wednesday
ReplyDeleteLove reading your post! Got a big charge where your hubby enjoyed looking at each of the squares! Me I have all boys and anything sweet and feminine would be welcomed! What you have on the design board is going to be so cute! Grandson will have hours of pleasure looking at it!
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH! I am speechless. The first square I noticed was the ninja turtle one...(that is a ninja turtle right!?) It is so weird having to adapt to boy things instead of like you said, hello kitty, lizzie mcquire, pink, purple, cabbage patch kids...etc. We should find one with a fire truck, or a monster truck one. Ever since you told us about this quilt we can envision this quilt on our bed as our son grows up. HOW FUN and i can't wait to help you pick out some more! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be such a fun quilt! Thanks for sharing.

I love that you are creating a heart in the middle and the tag is so cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention.
I have always wanted to make an I Spy quilt--the heart in the center is a great idea! What fun fabrics you have in there.
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt! Very fun!
ReplyDeleteOh, I know what you mean -- I have two boys, and I have John Deere tractor, Bob the Builder, and other "boy" fabrics in there that I feel like I'll never use again. Who knows, maybe someday I'll be pulling those out again for an I Spy quilt? I won't have any grandchildren anytime soon (my oldest is only 12) but an I Spy quilt would be wonderful for a shower gift too, wouldn't it? It really is perfect for all of those cute novelty fabrics.
