An Awesome Request

I started the day with this text from my son-in-law
(note: he's a die-hard Seattle Sea Hawks fan!):
Son-in-Law: "So one of my friend's Grandma made this for her:
You could do something like that right?!"
My reply: "Absolutely! This is what I do....do I have a request coming my way??"
Son-In-Law: "I never doubted you! HAHAHA You  most definitely do have a request, maybe a surprise for Christmas...to add to our amazing quilt collection."
Me: "I would love to!" (Of course!!)
Son-In-Law: "Yeah!!!! You're the best!!"

Isn't that just one of the most ultimate compliments we can get as a quilter!?!
I had to share with you guys, as his request made my day! I truly adore my son-in-law...so I'm happily off to shop for some Seattle Sea Hawk fabric...that's what I'm up to today.
With smiles,
Val:)

  1. Fun! I'm starting a baby quilt this week that is a request from a friend who is expecting her first grandchild. It's nice to be able to make something that others want but can't make.

  2. You are complimented as a quilter, but this is more than that. You are his Mother In Law! A guy almost always feels a repulsion to his MIL. It's almost required. I always call mine my favorite SIL... it's a joke, he is my only SIL.(I do think of him as a son.) He still thinks badly of me. I made him a really nice quilt with birds and (wild) flying geese all around the outside. (He had just lost his parents - within a year of each other.) So your SIL actually asking you for a quilt, well, in my book, that's major! I'm impressed.
Will you make the same pattern? We know what colors....

  6. You have not just had a request, but a request by an in-law (he must love you), and a request by a man! That's like a super-duper compliment!

  14. That is so great! You're right Val - it is that kind of confidence that a loved one has in you, knowing you can come through for them, that really gives quilters a burst of joy! Go Sea Hawks!
