Two quilting goals I currently have is to have a quilt (or two) in every room of the house. (Hmmmmm and now that I'm sitting here thinking about that, I'm a little humored to think that the only room that doesn't have a quilt is our master bedroom!!! Seriously! That is kinda funny huh!) Anyhoo, I also want to have a quilt for every holiday. So, this is my Halloween quilt made from a fun jelly roll:

So I'm wondering, do decorate your home with your quilts? Seriously, my quilting friend keeps most of her finished quilts in totes hidden under her bed! And they are beautiful!!

Fun Halloween quilt, Val! Yes, my house is decorated with quilts. There is a quilt on our bed, which we rotate. There are wallhangings on the back of the front door and kitchen door, two quilts hung in the dining room/dog room and a couch full of quilts in the living room.
ReplyDeleteA great pattern for some fun fabrics. I only have 2 human quilts and one kitty quilt. I have a lot of lovelies from past swaps and used them for decorating, but they are packed away now.
ReplyDeleteNeat quilt! Currently, I count 13 quilts on display (wall or otherwise) and some of those get rotated with others in my stash. There's also a (gulp) store-bought quilt on one bed, but in my defense, it's covered by a beautiful crocheted spread made by my grandmother. I didn't count pillows. : )

ReplyDeleteThe only time I "decorate" with quilts is at Christmas. I don't have the storage space required for seasonal quilts. :-( That is a darling Halloween quilt!
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of table runners and table toppers around and wall hangings...I do have a display ladder with a couple of quilts on it as well. When I build my new house, I plant to have more larger quilts hung on the walls and draped over sofa's. We have also never had any quiltiness in the main bedroom..why is that?? Love your halloween quilt!
ReplyDeleteI love the cheery Halloween quilt. And yes I do decorate with quilts. Seasonal and regular. Seasonal quilts add to the fun holidays without a lot of clutter. I have a hard time with clutter. Here's an interesting fact: we have always had a quilt made by me on our bed since we were first married.

ReplyDeleteI love your idea of having a quilt in every room and believe we make 'em to use 'em. This Halloween themed quilt is just the right size for snuggling up with in the evenings while reading or watching tv. And it looks like your trusty Jackson would make a pretty nice lap warmer, too!

Lovely! I like that the strip sets are off-set - gives a nice movement to the quilt. I haven't "decorated" the house with quilts as of yet, mostly because so far a lot of what I've made has gone straight to a new owner once finished. The only quilt I have at home at the moment is the Bargello on my bed, which is one of my earliest efforts. But at some point, yes, I'd love to litter the place with snuggly quilts - I certainly have enough WIPs to manage this, if I finish them! :)

I have a Halloween quilted door hanging to find too and hang on pour new front door. I have tons of seasonal fabric and really next to start seeing with it. I have quilt retreat this weekend so maybe I'll take some of the fall and Halloween fabric along.

That is an awesome quilting goal! I may adopt it as mine. I've not "decorated" my home w/quilts but would very much like to do so. I do have 3 in the living room for cuddling on the couch and there is one quilt in 2 of the bedrooms. My bed also has a quilt on it but it's not one made by me...though there is one in the works. My goal is to have 2 quilts for my bed, 1 for Spring/Summer and another for Fall/Winter (which is the one in the works). Two thumbs up for your halloween quilt.

ReplyDeleteOh, yes. I have them all over the house, on beds, on tables, and even one throw size quilt as my tablecloth for the big table's autumn tablescape. Jackson is doing a great job of modeling with your quilt!
ReplyDeleteEven though I have quite a fear of spiders I managed to make it past the big thing to admire your quilt! I love Halloween quilts and think 2 quilts per room is a great idea - what are doing for the bathroom?

ReplyDeleteWhat a great quilt! I love your goal of 2 quilts per room. We have a couple of crocheted and knitted blankets that were gifted to us and a quilt I made for my husband for our 11th anniversary that are kept in the living room and our home office. The anniversary quilt is threadbare in spots now and I just realized the embroidered label has deteriorated to the point it can barely be read. (I suppose 12 years of regular use will do that?!) Perhaps one of my 2017 goals should be to make my hubby another quilt. (He did mention he needed a replacement earlier this year.) It is safe to say the quilts I make for my family are well used. Some I have gifted have been saved for decor.
