Your cabinet is beautiful, Val! I love the glass doors, so your treasures are protected from dust but you can still see them. Alas, I have no quilts to store because I have only finished 16 quilts in the 16 years that I have been quilting, and I gave away 11 of them. Of the remaining 5 quilts, three of them have been bed quilts for my sons for so long that they are disintegrating and desperately need replacement, one is a small baby quilt that is folded in Anders' closet, and the other one is a maple leaf throw quilt that I made for my husband. That one is in our family room and is used for TV snuggling.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I feel like I'm not a "real" quilter yet because I don't have tons of quilts to store, or a stack of tops waiting to be quilted... But then I look at my list of UFO projects and the fabric I continue smuggling into my house and I KNOW I BELONG. ;-)
I love the glass doors on your storage. You get to enjoy your quilts without having them out. Thanks for hosting this linky, Val. I actually have something to share this time LOL.
ReplyDeleteLOL, yes, they are in two closets. I haven't done a post on my crummy storage. I do keep refolding them and rotating them for the seasons. I need a pretty piece to display them like you have. Shopping trip!!
ReplyDeleteI've never made a post about quilt storage. I think mostly because I don't store my quilts. Most of them I give away, and the ones I keep myself are on the sofa/bed or on the wall. Nice to see your quilts behind the glass doors.
ReplyDeleteI use an old "Jenny Lind" baby changing table to store my folded quilts. It will give you three shelves. My quilts are folded on the bias, one corner at a time making sure the outside edges are parallel. This prevents fold lines or creases.
