Jan. OMG: Winter Seasonal Wallhanging

Aughhhh....one last day of my Winter break. (I always love going back to school/work on a Tuesday as it makes the week go by so much faster!) So my last day of vacation will find me prepping flying geese and star blocks as I exclaim this Winter Seasonal Celebrations wall hanging as my January OMG! I'm going to actually change out of my jammies and take a few breaks from the sewing room to shovel snow, get my nails done, and enjoy a yoga class. But for the most part, I'll be sewing.

You had a peek at this quilt a bit ago...and as you can see, I have a good jump on this quilt with almost the applique stitched and ready to go. Another wonderful thing about this quilt is it's a stash buster!!! I'm using a lot of Kim Deihl and Buggy Barn fabrics I have on hand. This Wintery piece will finish at about 42" x 54" and looking forward to having it hang in our home by the end of the month.
2017 is off to a wonderful start and I'm happy to join everyone else at OMG:

  1. Such a cute piece for you January OMG. You are off to a great start in 2017. I'm going to consider joining the OMG effort this year as well as one other UFO busting linky.

  3. I love plaids and this would fit right in my home, thank you. You will finish this cutie and it will be a great 'document' for your cold and snowy winter this year.

  4. I have a good-sized snowman collection, but no snowman wall hanging. Probably because most snowman wallhangings involve applique. Applique does not seem to be my friend, an aversion I need to try to overcome. Yours is going to look great. Sorry you need to go back to work. One of the joys of being retired is just staying home, especially when it's cold and snowy.

  5. I do like that pattern! Your fabrics look great with it, too. It's always super to work out of the stash, isn't it? Best of luck with this goal.

  8. Need to do an OMG for January, haven't done one for a while. I LOVE yours! Those are all Henry Glass (near and dear to MY heart) fabrics! Poop on the heading back to work, and yep on the 4-day work week, loved those too, although after the Christmas break it always seemed like the 4 days were 6!

  11. What a fun quilt pattern! Did you create it or, if not, who did? Is it a kit? Good luck with your goal for it. I'll look forward to seeing all the blocks sewn together.
