I have a "dinomite" finish today!
This quilt has been so much fun to make for our grand-guys third birthday.
It measure 36"x45", just big enough to cover his "car" bed, yet small enough for him to carry around.
I contemplated a few different options for the binding but really like the look of this scrappy one.
As you see, I did decide to just use a cute dinosaur pantograph I had.
It gave the quilt that even, all over quilting I wanted...and well the more dinosaurs the better!
The pantograph seemed to work okay with the applique...so we're good.

I finished it by added my traditional "numbered" birthday label on the back
along with my "grandma loves you" tag. (smiles!)
Like most kids I'm sure, he is not alone in enjoying the texture and softness of minky and well, red is his favorite color right now...so I think this quilt is going to keep him wrapped in many quilty hugs!
We're off to see him this weekend but I couldn't resist sharing a picture of him enjoying birthday cupcakes with his preschool friends. Happy Birthday Buddy!! See ya soon!

ReplyDeleteI always thought the bigger the better with quilts, but my Monkey has taught me recently that smaller is easier to drag around. This is super cute!
