Tackling Some WIP...

We were awoken at the crack of dawn with a truck delivery of wood for our patio extension.
As you can imagine, our little guy was quick to jump out of bed
to watch  all the trucks and trackers in our driveway!

We spent the rest of this rainy morning hanging out together in the studio.
He busy playing Paw Patrol near by.

Me happily sewing and getting caught up on my Scrap Dance Mystery:

After squaring up all those Half Squared Triangles, I now have a wonderful bowlful of scraps to refill my thread bird feeder...just in time to welcome Spring and the birds back to the yard.
Displaying ssewingscraps.jpg

But, now it's time to take a break for some painting as I hear a little someone
pitter patter up the stairs exclaiming: "Please meme, can we do this now?"
I mean seriously, who am I to resist such charm!
Aiming to start quilting another WIP this afternoon once you know who takes a nap unless of course, Meme ends up taking a nap too. (Which is most likely!

A Boy and A Dog...

...are always heartwarming to watch play together aren't they.

I never really realized how inseparable Jackson and our Grand-guy are, until I was sitting outside yesterday afternoon enjoying a rest and a well earned glass of wine. Jackson follows him everywhere. They chase each other. They play "hide and seek". They laugh. They gives kisses.  Suddenly I realized why he always requests to "see Jackson" every time we Facetime and wants
"his baby" named Jackson if it's a boy! LOL!!!!!

Well...except when said boy pretends he's Spiderman spinning a web on his dog!
Jackson's not so impressed with his Spiderman skills. LOL!
My Spring Break is off to a great start and I'm looking forward to filling it with many more Grammy adventures with our little guy. Starting with a trip to the Zoo today as PopPop is off.
Thanks so very much for stopping by and for being my bloggy friends. I awoke early this morning and tiptoed downstairs to catch up on my blog and to be greeted by all your kind comments of congratulations yesterday just made my day! Hope your week is off to great start as well.

A Spring Walk & an Announcement!

Team Undertrained & Overconfident:
What better way to start my Spring Break than with a 10K in the back hills of Oregon.
My oldest daughter and I joined my teacher partner and some of her friends, as we tackled the Owyhee Mountain Trails her in Oregon. Once we got three miles of steep trails behind us,
we enjoyed the 50 degree day filled sunshine and a few more miles filled with good conversation.

At mile four we found ourselves a little punchy
but with only one more hill to go, we persevered...

Finished!!!

And though it might be hard to beat those "team t-shirts" of ours...
this one our little guy wore upon his arrival certainly does in my opinion:
YES! ""Someone" is being promoted to BIG BROTHER!!!
I can already hear Great Meme's knitting needles clicking and my own sewing machines humming!
Nothing like expecting a new grand-baby to reignite one's creative energy.
We're all soooo excited. We'll have to wait until May for the gender reveal...
but under then, one can start day-dreaming right!?
As always, thanks for stopping by!

This week's theme is: Tonals

Do batiks count as a tonal? I hope so because today I'm reminded how pretty they turn out as I rejuvenate this quilt from my own archives.  This was one of my very first quilts made for our  youngest daughter back in 2012. She has such a good eye for color and I'm now inspired to dig out a kit I bought to make my husband a similar quilt using neutral tones.

I'm also reminded  how much fun this one was to quilt as each square got it's own sun motif.
My favorite sun is the one wearing sunglasses on the blue block!
I continue to love the bright batiks against the neutral tones and expect it's well worn by now.

H2H: A "Treasure" for Camp Hobe

It's that time of year again and it's always been very rewarding for me to pass on a Quilty Hug through this annual event that Sarah hosts. I can't believe this year marks my fourth year in doing so.
(Click HERE to check out all the details.)
Confessions Of A Fabric Addict
This year, I have the prefect quilt top in my stash
that I'm going to quilt up for a Camp Hobe donation.
See. Nothing says "camp" better than pirates and treasure maps!
And... I have the perfect pantograph in my files to really finish this one well.
This one measures 46"x66"...perfect for some lucky little camper!
Stay tuned...and perhaps click HERE and think about joining us in this annual H2H event.
Join us here every Tuesday to rejuvenate posts from your archives!

A fun-filled St. Patty's Day!

No one in this group got pinched today!

We especially had fun in Math graphing (and eating) Lucky Charm marshmellows.

I couldn't figure out what the heck my students were doing...until my one little guy, with a great deal of seriousness I might add, started to explain: "Mrs. Reynolds there is a Leprechaun living in here! We can see his tunnels! He even has one of our markers!!"  "If you be quiet you can hear him!"
LOL!! Sure hoping your day has been filled with a little mystery and fun as well.

Pattern available HERE on Craftsy.
....or creative, Green is our theme this week. For example, I just love how Carole always decorates her home for the seasons. I enjoyed doing this when our girls were young and am always inspired by Carole's creativity. This is actually one of her March tablesettings I found in her blog archives from March of 2015. Click HERE to read her entire post and I bet you'll be with me in wishing you could dine with her too. (SMILES!)Spring Tablescape - 15

Fun Happy Mail!

The mailman delivered my turn with Bernie's, over at Needle and Foot,  Fabric and Fiction book share. (Click HERE to read all about her cool happy mail/quilters book club of sorts.)
We receive (and send forward) three new fat quarters that relate back to the novel in some fashion. My person sent me these three fun fabrics below, each representing one of the main characters in the story. Her character captions have me intrigued.
I laughed a little when she said the circle design represents the character Samantha whose thoughts seem to keep her running in circles. I smiled in thought of the pink representing the character Lydia, because older women often mentor younger women without even knowing it. And finally, those trees, they represent King, the character who is cool with himself, steady and stable. (I'm so grateful to have my own King) After this wonderful introduction, I'm looking forward to meeting these characters myself as I spend a few hours this chilly morning reading: Open House.
Next week's theme: Anything GREEN!
