E is for Elephants, F is for Farm and G is for Garden:
When I starting quilting a few years ago, 30's prints were the very first fabric I started collecting. I have an entire tub of precut 2 1/4" strips that I use for my hexagons.
I plan to continue my stash busting of these...

...and also use them to "frame" my little letters:
I'm not sure if I'm going to sash my blocks together with a cream or just sew them together scrappy style?? I think once I get A, B, C and D, framed up this week and on the design wall, they'll start to "talk" to me. (I hope!) Anyhoo, I'll be spending my Sunday afternoon right here quilting these two tops:
With Smiles,
Val:)
I love those letters. I've started a new set with 30's prints too. I'm not going to frame them before all the letters are done.
ReplyDeleteyou know we'll never use up our stash! The strip hamper is great way to control it! LeeAnna
ReplyDeleteYour letters are looking so good. I love the strips around them.
ReplyDeleteYour Little Letters are looking so cute! I like how they are framed. I agree about putting them on the design wall and letting them speak to you. I just finished my hand binding and put the quilt in to wash it, so now I am going into my sewing room to make some G blocks!
ReplyDeleteCute little letters! They are turning out great! -Brittany
ReplyDeleteTalking letters, the best!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I commented on your red lady and house, but I absolutely love them. I also think that these letters are going to be such a delightful quilt. You go girlfriend!
ReplyDeletelove the choice of fabrics, those 2.5 strips have come in very handy for this project
ReplyDeleteYou have inspired me to join in the fun! I have started not one but three sets. I will be blogging about them today. Now I need to get caught up to the group.
ReplyDeleteEveryone is commenting on the letters - of course :-) But I am in love with that little charm square quilt beside your frame! I am now going to go back through your older posts and see if you have any larger photos of that one.
ReplyDeleteLisa you are coming up as a no-replyer ...but here is the link to the charm pack as a WIP:http://myplvl.blogspot.com/2014/09/many-wips-this-week.html I'll be posting it this week as a Friday Finish!! YAH!
DeleteThanks Val! Darn that pesky no-reply ;-) The quilt that actually caught my eye is the one with the navy border. Guess that would be a postage stamp and not charm. Well either way I like them both and look forward to seeing one or both of them unveiled in your Friday Finish.
DeleteThese are looking good and it's always nice to find good stash-busting ideas.
ReplyDeleteNo button yet.!!Thanks for links and inspire at Show and Tell Monday / hug Bambi
ReplyDeleteI'm sure these letters will form some kind of message and talk to you!
ReplyDeleteI love those solid letters with the print backgrounds. It's going to be another fun quilt.
