This is our basement studio. My husband creates stain-glass and I quilt.
We have fun and feel lucky to share this space together.
But I'm thinking of doing some remodeling in here....as my newest adventure in the quilting world finds me enjoying the art of long-arm quilting on my Tin Lizzie 18. (Pictured below and if you are looking for a long-arm quilter, please do click here to check out my Long-Arm Quilting Services page.)
But I want to utilize this space to better accommodate family and well, feel a little bit cozier and lot less industrial. So my mind is spinning with ideas...
Anyhoo...that's what I'm thinking about today. I've also included links to all my previous organizing posts in case you too are looking for ideas, as I may be coming up with new methods to soon share with you. Here ya go:
2. Fat Quarters
4. Perle Cotton
7. Rulers
10. Clipboards
11.Floor Cushion
12. Bobbins
13. WIP
14. Safety Pins
15. Pattern Books
Happy Organizing!
With smiles,
Val:)

I often think that I enjoy organizing my room and supplies as much (sometimes more!) as I do actually sewing! It is the one room I dont' mind going into and saying "boy, I have to organize this room better!" Look forward to your tips! Followed you from Can I Get A Whoop Whoop linky
ReplyDeleteSince my sewing room is my living room - I have to keep organized. Would some day love a dedicated studio/sewing room.
ReplyDeleteWell, Val, I read the marathon of organizational blogs... loved every minute! I can't say I'm that organized... especially now during our home showing part of the move, but usually I can stick my hand into the "mess" and remove exactly the item I wanted. I do have some things in place for collecting like things. Your stash is considerably smaller than mine, so your storage method wouldn't work for me. Right now it's a mess in moving boxes, and since Hubby helped there is no rhyme or reason to it. We'll see what I can do at the new house... (if I live that long). It's already a year that my stuff is stuffed into boxes. (boo-hoo)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips.
Hugs
WOW! you have an awesome space. I grew up in Ohio with a basement and my mom sewed there. In Texas we have no basements and I sure do miss them. Lucky you, love your space!
ReplyDeleteI hope you find something that works for you. I love organizing and moving things around in my craft room. My sister-in-law came to play today, and we had so much fun in there together.
ReplyDeleteWell Val, that is a fantastic space. The possibilities are endless. I don't envy you trying to come up with a solid plan. I know that it will be wonderful when you're done. Can't wait to see it
ReplyDeleteVal, that us a great space! I am sure you will have some great ideas. Keep us posted. I am a little OCD when it comes to organization. I love to organize my fabric as much as I do sewing. Now off to check some of your tips. I am sure I will learn something new. Thanks for the links.
ReplyDeleteThis is a dream of a studio! Thanks for the tips!
ReplyDeleteI could just plop down on that chair with the buffalo blanket with a cuppa and chat away with you.
ReplyDeleteOhhh, I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
ReplyDeleteYou have a nice space for stitching. Do you ever finish organizing? I'm beginning to think not.
