I'm binding myself towards another Friday Finish.
This is the Chevron Quilt that I've been making for my mom, but got set aside to finish my T-Shirt Quilt. I have to admit that binding is my very favorite slow stitching to do. (Applique is my second)
Do you have a favorite slow stitching project? If so, please do share.
With Smiles,
Val:)
EPP hexagons are my favorite hand sewing ATM. Can't wait for Fridays reveal!
ReplyDeleteI would say my favorite is needle turn applique. But if I don't want to have to think too much I like sewing on the binding, I look forward to seeing your finished quilt!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite slow stitching is quilting with perle cotton or appliquéing wool felt with perle cotton!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite slow stitching always changes. Many enjoy hand stitching quilt binding. I like your printed backing. It coordinates nicely.
ReplyDeleteRight now, I am enjoying some hand quilting...but I love doing binding too.
ReplyDeleteProbably my favourite slow stitching is hand quilting. I lve that it takes months to finish, because I can enjoy and admire it every day.
ReplyDeleteI love to hand sew the binding too! I love the chevron quilt you made. I just ordered fabric to make one for my son.
ReplyDeleteI am yet to try hand sewing the binding. Hand stitching anything tends to make me a little agitated. I get easily frustrated at how slow it all goes. I am starting to learn patience by knitting, but I still have a long way to go until I desire to do hand sewing. Perhaps part of the problem is that I tend to be incredibly slow at things as it is, so to purposely do something slow has me going at a snail's pace.
ReplyDeleteYes, binding! I have always enjoyed it. It is like the final bow of a big project.
ReplyDeleteSome people do not like the binding part but I love all hand work, but my favorite is hand quilting.
ReplyDeleteI do love stitching binding and English Paper Piecing!
ReplyDeleteLike you I enjoy hand binding. Applique... much less! I love the fabrics of this chevron quilt!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy working your way towards your finish ! :) I think that quilting is my favorite / everything else is just to get to that point but I do admit once I am done I put OFF the binding ! :)
ReplyDeleteVal, I have not developed the patience for slow stitching, but am determined to start hand sewing my bindings - it just looks so much nicer.
ReplyDeleteHand stitching the binding is a lovely pastime as is basting hexagons for EPP. Heck, I love all sorts of hand sewing and machine sewing; it is all enjoyable! Love the pink fabric in the picture. What line is is from?
ReplyDeleteI love binding too... so relaxing, and exciting to have an almost finished quilt!
ReplyDeleteHand quilting (but not tons of it on the same quilt). Can't wait to see your finish!
ReplyDeleteI like to sew on bindings too.
