JELLY ROLL QUILTS:

This week finds us skimming though our archives for quilts made from a jelly roll or 2 1/2" strips. Please tell me I'm not the only one who prefers this dish of Jelly Rolls over the traditional yummy, bready version! (Truth be told, I can't resist a good Cinnamon Roll!)

But, never the less, I've only made one quilt from a jelly roll and it was this Halloween quilt for our youngest daughter back in the Fall of 2010 when I had just started quilting. It was my second quilt made. I think what I like about using a jelly roll is it's quick and easy.  I was able to make this quilt in a weekend. (And yes, Jackson even photo bombed back then!!)
The above is lap size quilt made from a pattern called: Strip Search by G.E. Desgins.
Anyhoo...I'm always grateful to each of you for stopping by and making Tuesday Archives a success! I so enjoy seeing your older posts and always learn something new from them.Sooo...with that said:

  1. I love quilts made with strips! And to my horror, I discovered I didn't have a photo of one of my favorites that I made for my niece in 2011, my pre-blogging days. I will have to ask her to take a photo... I'm ready for next week with my turkey quilt too!
    Pugs and kisses,
    Nancy

  2. That's a fun arrangement of strips in your Halloween quilt. It makes a change from the straight rail fence block.

  4. very nice, I have 3 jelly rolls sitting in a cupboard, I did use one but made small things, a bag for the cutting mat and other pouches for rulers etc. not sure where the rest went, probably into 2.5" squares and some went into the tula pink blocks

  7. I love love jelly rolls! I think my favorite part about them is how pretty they are all rolled up with the different colors. On my way to check out the other links, I just received some Lost & Found Love jelly rolls and I can't wait to use them!

  10. What a bright and fun quilt! I don't do much with pre cuts other than fat quarters, so I've never made a jellyroll quilt.

  11. Your "Eye Spy" quilt is adorable! I love that your little ones love Cars, mine did too. Also, this linky party was a lot of fun. I love using Jellyrolls and have some "lying around" waiting for inspiration. Pre-cuts are great, aren't they?
