Inspired by a student bulletin board...
I created these this weekend:
I just couldn't resist following through on this inspiration.
I machine appliqued the snowman and will hand stitch the scarves, noses and eyes this week as we watch TV in the evenings. Then I'll add the arms and sash them together.
Each block is 9"x12".

Any ideas for the sashing??

Oh my gosh! Those are so darn cute i can't wait to see how this turns out. Won't the kids be tickled too? A wonderful lesson for them about inspiration and creativity.
ReplyDeleteDo you have some green pine tree/branch fabric? This is just adorable!!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking green too...so kinda of a dark green...
DeleteI was thinking green too! Stick with your original inspiration & the green blocks on the mural!
DeleteSomething with snowflakes falling on it? So cute, and great quilt from your inspiration piece!

ReplyDeleteI love the snowmen and it will be a great quilt.
ReplyDeleteFollowing an irresistable inspiration is always rewarding. Your snowman are cute and funny!
ReplyDeleteGreen just like the construction paper. So cute!
ReplyDeleteThey are looking great. I think they will look so cute when you are finished. I hope the kids will get to see what they inspired.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!!! I might enter it in the county fair with the kids picture attached!
DeleteAdorable! I love the upturned carrot noses!!
ReplyDeleteAhhh!! So cute!! What a fun quilt.
ReplyDeleteOh! These are so cute! I love them. I taught K/1 and it makes me think of my favorite thing which was creating the art projects with the kids for each month's theme. These are so fun! Can't wait to see them with the rest of their parts. K- lkw2x6-apq@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteWhat fun snowmen Val!
ReplyDeleteOh your snowmen are looking great
ReplyDeleteWell that was fast!!! They are so cute, and the kids will be thrilled that their work was your inspiration. I'm thinking green--because that is kind of like the green on the bulletin board. Or if you have a darker blue with snowflake print that would be fun, too.
ReplyDeleteYah...hubby had to work an 8 t0 8 on a Sunday and the weather is snowy cold....so what else is a girl to do! LOL!!
DeleteGreat interpretation! Such a cute quilt. It's fun where we get our inspiration, no?

ReplyDeleteToo cute! I'm so glad you followed through on this thread of inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHow fun is this! So in honor of the occasion, consider yourself the target of an errant snowball from the three (or four?) tiered snowman you forgot to include in your quilt - ssssspppllllaaaatttt!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI thought of that...well not of getting hit...but of hurt feelings. My number twelve, I was growing bored though.
