I have an in-service day at work today which more often than not, finds me doodling and daydreaming about the moment it's over. LOL!! With that said, I'm already looking forward to my weekend! For the past three years, my husband has had Friday and Saturdays off. This meant he worked Sundays, and this easily became my sew day. But, Sew Days on a Saturday have been a harder routine to establish for reasons unknown. Soooo with rain in the forecast, I'm going to be intentional and THIS is what I'm setting out to do this weekend:
1. Dust off the ol' longarm and get a few quilts done. (DONE)
2. Repair damaged design wall (With hubby's help.) (DONE)
(I swear Jackson always thinks I'm taking a picture of HIM!)
3. Yippee Yeah!! Dig into that adorable charm pack of baby flannel that
just arrived in the mail and sew a quick little quilt. (STARTED)
4.Make a trip to JoAnnes and get a few more supplies as I prepare to teach my students to hand sew next week. (I love post-it notes!) NOTE: Noooo, Joanne's doesn't carry wine...
but THAT store is right down the street from it!
Do you have plans to sew this weekend?
Sounds like great plans! I also spend in service days doodling and planning--ADHD I guess. The best liquor store in our town is next door to Joanns--pure perfection!
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to your design wall? Looks like a full day of work. Of course Jackson is the focus of every picture, I can just hear him saying "right Mom?" I'll be having s stamping party this weekend, while the guys play with the cars in our garage.
ReplyDeleteWe are suppose to have 70's degree weather this weekend in North Dakota so am planning on cleaning my deck, sitting out in my clean deck and get some sunshine. Also I need to get my projects cut out that I am taking with me when I go to a retreat at my daughters in Seattle. All the gals coming are scrapbookers and I get to come and do my quilting!! survivor972002@midco.net
ReplyDeleteSounds like some good plans and fished off with a wine. Good choice
ReplyDelete*Wine (not just any wine, but asterisk wine), 5 felts (because 4 isn't enough and six is TOO MANY!) dog kennel (watch out, Jackson!), needles (with real life example)...your lists are too funny! Good thing you don't need a machete, it would be hard to tape it to the Post-It note :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a busy weekend, Val. I'm with Jo......a glass of wine or two after all that hard work. =)
ReplyDeleteplenty of sewing going on in your home. The wine is sure to help. Shame re the rain we are expecting glorious sunshine all weekend but so far no sun has appeared! Hope to sit in the garden and stitch tomorrow very unusual for april but we have been warned cold weather will be back on monday
ReplyDeletelots of good plans during the rainy season.
ReplyDeletecoco is the same - she's in so many photos ha ha
I'm going to restock my antique mall booth this morning then go to the quilt shop and Joann. I was finally back at work this week after two months sick so I'm tired today and glad I have some me time.
ReplyDeleteHaha--very convenient to have the wine supplier nearby the Joann's! Looks like you have some cute tops to quilt--hope you find time to finish them!
ReplyDeleteSilly Jackson! :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your sew day. I know you will make the most of it!
Hysterical! Love that you have shopping priorities!!!
ReplyDeleteHope you were able to spend your Saturday as planned. I've spent most of the last two days in the sewing room. I'm about ready for a break.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see the sunshine today, after all the rain Fri/Sat. I'm on serious Vitamin D deficiency, so enough rain and snow already! Have fun teaching your kiddos to sew - that would be a riot to watch :)
ReplyDeleteYou had quite a bit planned for the weekend. Hope you had a successful shopping trip!
