Rain in the Forecast=a Sew Day!

I have an in-service day at work today which more often than not, finds me doodling and daydreaming about the moment it's over. LOL!! With that said, I'm already looking forward to my weekend! For the past three years, my husband has had Friday and Saturdays off. This meant he worked Sundays, and this easily became my sew day. But, Sew Days on a Saturday have been a harder routine to establish for reasons unknown. Soooo with rain in the forecast, I'm going to be intentional and THIS is what I'm setting out to do this weekend:
1. Dust off the ol' longarm and get a few quilts done. (DONE)

2. Repair damaged design wall (With hubby's help.) (DONE)
(I swear Jackson always thinks I'm taking a picture of HIM!)
3. Yippee Yeah!! Dig into that adorable charm pack of baby flannel that
just arrived in the mail and sew a quick little quilt. (STARTED)
4.Make a trip to JoAnnes and get a few more supplies as I prepare to teach my students to hand sew next week. (I love post-it notes!) NOTE: Noooo, Joanne's doesn't carry wine...
but THAT store is right down the street from it!
Do you have plans to sew this weekend?

Happy Mail Coming!

Okay, okay....don't be calling me all crazy....but I can't honestly remember the last time I bought fabric!!! (I know! Seriuosly, insert an awe struck emoji right here.)  I got inspired after our grand guy's visit and ordered enough fabric to make him a small quilt of his favorite Brown Bear book.  And I have to admit, I couldn't resist adding an additional charm pack of some oh so soft baby flannel to make a quick baby quilt....because ya know, the anticipation of another grand-baby is always exciting and creating baby quilts is always fun!

Hoping your week is sprinkled with a little bit of anticipation too.
And just in case you didn't see...there's still time to take advantage of this sale.
I soooo value the excellent customer service I've received from Fat Quarter Shop.

This week's theme is: THRIFTY FINDS

Almost three years ago it's hard to believe what deals I came across while on a morning walk one Saturday morning as I spied a garage sale down the street.
Seriously, click HERE  to check out what $15.00 bought me!
Here's a peek at one of the thrifty finds I found:

Spring Classroom Projects Ahead...

Spring Break has passed. I find myself sitting at my own desk, looking forward to Spring with my second graders, pondering what it is I want to accomplish with them? I'm savoring these last few moments of quiet,  before the morning bell rings and this classroom is once again filled with the joyful energy of children and our Spring semester officially begins.
I packed a bag with felt and threads to begin a stitching project with those who may be interested.
(Thank you so very much Tonya and Nancy for sending your extras my way!)
And...I'm beginning to plan our yearly classroom quilt:
I'm grateful for the opportunity to be their teacher. I'm grateful to be able to create
artistic outlets for them that they normally would not have.
It's going to be a fun Spring for sure! Stay tuned....
Tomorrow's theme is: Thrifty Finds.

Quilty Hugs

 Morning and...
...night...
...our grand-guy could be found cuddled up in not one, but ALL his quilts while he was here. That's just one of those ultimate moments we quilters love isn't it!? Oh and the fact he genuinely LOVES his quilts has me already planning his next birthday quilt...a race car track:
Note to self: Use flannel or minky on the back.
We had such a wonderful Spring Break together and though we're each back home now,  several hours apart, it comforts me to know he's kept warm in Meme's Quilty Hugs while we are apart.
