So far this week it's been quiet in the sewing room but I have enjoyed getting my new linky party started. We all get to enjoy a glimpse into the past as everyone links up to rejuvenate their old quilting/sewing posts here at Val's Quilting Studio. The very first Tuesday Archive Linky Party! has already been fun!
(I even found myself peeking online while my second graders where at lunch!)

Seriously, THIS is exactly what I hoped this linky would be:
The oldest post I read in the ABC Themes was dated October of 2010 by Daryl at Patchouli Moon Studio. If ya haven't visited her post yet...do! She created this pattern herself and has it for sale.
Next, in the Album Themes the oldest post I read was dated October 2010 by Nita @ Nita Dances . (Although, Joanie of Joanie's Trendy Quilts was a close second with a post dated December 2010.) I was so very touched by Nita's post and couldn't help myself from grabbing this picture of her giving her album quilt to her daughter! I was so inspired when I read: "It’s a very special quilt, because all the members of the dance troupe signed it with wishes, quotes, and thoughts – something she can wrap herself up in – something tangible that will keep her connected to all of us." Right! Isn't this so why we quilt!
I will close in gratitude: THANKING everyone who linked up, have posted the Tuesday Archive button on your blog and gave a shout out to your followers! But, especially to Marelize for the opportunity to host. Oh & my husband thanks you, as you got me out of my winter iky mood! YAH! Next week's linky themes: Apples & Applique. Val:)
Great linky party! I found lots of inspiration and visited some fun and talented folks. Thanks!

DeleteThanks for posting an update on your new linky party, Val. Glad to see the word is getting out there and you had lots of linker for your first week. Great new party!
ReplyDeleteThanks Val for posting and featuring my Alphabet Quilt. I may have posted it on my blog in 2010, but I made and created the pattern in 2000!!! Wow does time fly by. That was way before I even started blogging.
ReplyDeleteVal, I wanted to let you know that I posted your linky button on my blog cuz I think this is a terrific idea for a link up party even though I don't yet have a post I can link. I know sooner or later I will . I do enjoy looking at all the great posts from others, so much wonderful inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThis is so great! I'm sorry I missed sharing last week. Too bad I've only been quilting for a couple years.
ReplyDeleteI've only been quilting for four years....you can always create a post about older quilts if you find yourself inspired by the week's theme and link that post up. :)
DeleteGood thing about husbands, eh? You're off to a great start!
ReplyDeleteThanks for featuring my quilt, I am honoured!
