Hello! Hello! and Happy Tuesday Archives!
I'm still on my Grammy Vacation...and will look forward to returning on August 16th.
Until then, welcome to the linky party that rejuvenates your old quilting/sewing posts!
You can always click here to read more about this linky party if you are new to this ol' blog.
And remember, every time you link up counts as an entry for our monthly
$15.00 gift certificate to Fabric N Quilts.
This week's theme is STRING QUILTS!
I found a new blogger who makes string quilts with a purpose! Meet Robin who blogs at Ormand Beach Quilts. She makes string quilts for teens who are graduating from the Foster Care System! Her post and purpose touched my heart and I know it will yours too! Click here to read her Foster Teens Post. Click here to read her Foster Teen Quilts Part post. I'm so inpsired by her mission.
So fun to be the first one to link up. It's my last day of summer holiday, so I had the chance. Great quilt inspiration you show us here Val. I'll take a closer look at those quilts.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are enjoying your Grammy Vacation! I love looking at strip quilts. . . do NOT like making them ;)
ReplyDeleteI make a lot of string blocks, but I send them to Sarah's group for finishing and gifting on.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to make a string quilt--but I have a lot of strings, and it is on my list! Impressive project you found.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having lots of fun on your Grammy Vacation. I enjoy looking at the strip quilts, but haven't reached the point where I want to make one.
ReplyDeleteYou know, "string quilts" is a term that I have heard bantered about on the Internet, but I don't really know what that means. What makes a quilt a string quilt? I'm squinting at the pictures on my computer monitor looking for yarn or string tying the quilts, and I don't see any -- what am I missing?
