Any of you who got the Quilter's Planner, were also emailed a pattern to create a fabric cover for the planners. I had a lot of fun creating mine and am glad I made it as this little guy will be carried often between work and home. Just think, now I can doodle during staff meeting and look like I'm taking "real" notes!
Here's the cover:
I enjoyed creating my little wonky butterfly and embellishing it with some creative stitching over the New Year's holiday. I seriously can not remember the last time I put in a zipper, let alone a pocket!
I was beginning to feel like I was back in high school Home Ec class.
But I did it! Wahooo!!
Here's the inside flaps with pockets:
This pocket will hold all my sticky notes and a few pencils. |
Notice the large ric-rak I used to embellish the top of the pocket. Cute! |
I really enjoyed all the Winter Sewing I got in during my break from school/teaching this past two weeks. Thanks for stopping by and keeping me motivated with your visits and comments. The rest of the day will find me wrapping things up around here. You can bet that means scheduling some January projects that I can't wait to share with you...and of course, finishing up the laundry and getting the bills paid. Know i'm truly looking forward to a FABULOUS 2016 together!
Very cute cover for your new planner - now get planning.
ReplyDeleteThat is the cutest book cover. It makes me wish I had the pattern. Love the use of the ric-rac.
ReplyDeleteSo cute. love the little pockets. So handy for pencils. Sewing zippers gets easier with practice, but it is quite a change from the usual quarter inch seam routine.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you're already off to a FABULOUS start to 2016. That looks like a very fun and very Val cover :)
ReplyDeletefits perfectly and such a nice cover for your planner

ReplyDeleteHow cool is that?!?! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love your cheerful cover. I still need to make one.
ReplyDeleteThis cover will certainly keep your planner clean and the corners sharp. I love that the main color is black. And the inside flaps!
ReplyDeleteLove your butterfly. Yellow is not my color, but I realy love it. I was always doodling during meetings too. The only way to stay focussed. Hope you find enugh time to sew. Hreat cover for your planner.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Bravo for you personalizing the cover! I also like that you added an edging to the pockets inside. I know it's only the first few days of the year, but I am really loving this planner!
ReplyDeleteVery cute as well as functional. You nailed the cover. It was so hard to go back to work on Monday. Sewing in small doses is just not as much fun.
ReplyDeleteWonky is good. I'm lovin' the bright, bold colors too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat cover Val!!
