I can't believe I've been working on this quilt on and off for three years.
It's just one of those "creative projects" that evolves as I make it up...
or in this case, remake it as I go.
The center went from this:
To this:
I sewed the new center right over the old one and once finished,
just cut the old one away on the back side:
Now my creative mind is looking at finishing it with a black flower printed border. A purple prairie point border between it and the quilt, finishing it with a lime green binding. What do ya think?

Too much fun Val. I have been watching this quilt for years. I like the new center!
ReplyDeleteVery fun! Love that you made it work without taking the whole thing apart.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work Val xx
ReplyDeleteLove the new center!
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever way to replace the center! i think your new plan sounds great.
ReplyDeleteOo, prairie points! Yes! That will be so fun and three dimensional. And lime green against the black will really pop :)
ReplyDeletePurple prairie points and lime green binding sound perfect! Insert pout face here. I really liked the little log cabin heart center.
ReplyDeleteI like the new center, too. Fun new header you have, but where is precious Jackson? Great quilt projects, happy sewing today!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun project--very cute! I'm not sure I would have been able to cut out that center though--that's a little scary--lol!
ReplyDeleteLove this bright, happy and celebration of all things colourful, quilt Val. Can't wait to see it finished.
