Our Final Post Here...

The hum of my sewing machines seem to almost echo in the empty house as the final quilt got quilted....
...and another got binding sewn on.

I thought Jackson looked a little sad until I realized while I was ironing that he in fact just couldn't find a comfy place to rest! Poor guy! I felt so bad. With no dog bed of his own nor couch to rest upon...
he finally found a cozy spot in the quilt I was binding. Smart puppy.

As many of you know, hubby and I have been downsizing this year and as we all know,
as one door closes, another one opens. We may not always know what lies in the horizon....
:
...but I actually find inspiration in the unknown right now and even took time to make a list of all
the things I want to do MORE. I'm filled with curiosity as this new life chapter begins.
My little creative brain is turning as I find myself with new creative spaces awaiting....both indoor and out!

With that said, this is my last post here at Val's Quilting Studio. I have so enjoyed blogging over the past six years as it allowed me to document my journey into quilting. So know, I have no plans of removing this blog.  I've enjoyed our community and quilting for so many of you and just want to take advantage of this transition to create a new blog that is not limited to quilting. Time will tell when that will evolve as these new spaces offer a blank canvas of exploration and a period of time where I can allow myself a sabbatical of sorts.
(I'll be sure to announce and link it here when I do!)

Until then, thank you for following. Thank you for your inspiration. Thank you for your friendships. If you just found my blog, you can take a look around by clicking on my tabs at the top of the page and my post labels at the bottom of the page. With six years of quilting documented here...there's plenty of inspiration to be found and friends to meet by following the blog links on my sidebar.

  7. Good luck with your new adventures. I still haven't been able to get all my "moola" counted from the piggy bank challenge. . . but that will get posted on my blog at some point.

Planning on just continuing on with saving my change. . . .we are contemplating a move of our own & I would like to have "mad money" available so that if there are things I want for the new space I can splurge without feeling guilty.

  10. This is a bittersweet ending! I'm excited for you to be launching into all the fun and adventure of retirement, and will also miss your lovely words and photos here. I'm subscribed to your blog, so any future update that tells us where you're going to be will drop efficiently into my mailbox. And who knows where I'll be when that happens? Perhaps our paths will physically cross one of these days and we can meet face to face ;)

  12. Awwww... I had to take a breather before writing this because I was feeling sorry for myself...
Please. A peek from time to time? Otherwise I may lie awake wondering about you... House? Caravan? Projects/adventures?, Quilting frame? Jackson? Grand guys? Mr. Val? (Not in that order lol.)
    You'll be missed Val!
