Better late than never I say! I proclaimed in this post last month to turn this pile of dog themed fabric into a quilt for Jackson. (I know who makes their dog a quilt!) BUT! I have a goal to rid my house of all the old fleece tie blankets laying around and I've been collecting these fat quarters for a few years...so I thought, what the heck!
And you know what! It was fun to just play as I made these wonky, polka dotted stars into this fun sized 38"x58" quilt. It will make the perfect TV room quilt for my little buddy...plus it's big enough to use as a lap quilt so he can snuggle under it with me!
I quilted it using the same dog pantograph I used here. Kinda wierd is the feeling that I almost love the back more than the front! You ever feel that way? I'm certain it's because of that adorable dog print fabric I didn't have the heart to cut up:
And well, I'm sure it's to no one's surprise: Jackson loves it too!
Check out my linky party page above to see where I link up and share each week.
Now onto getting busy meeting my July ALYofF goal. Thanks for stopping by!
With smiles,
Val and Jackson

That's fun! It looks like Jackson likes it! Thanks for sharing your finish on TGIFF!
ReplyDeleteI have made several little quilts for my cat Val, so you aren't alone! First one was so that I could practice my FMQ - well that was my excuse, anyway.
ReplyDeleteLove that quilt....and the little doggie tooooo!
ReplyDeleteJackson is adorable and I love the quilt you made for him! I hope that Romeo, Elvis, and LarryPug don't read your blog because I still need to make quilts for them!
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt and he looks so happy with it. I make quilts for my dog , Stan so you are not alone. He thinks all quilts are for him to be honest xxx
ReplyDeleteI have never made my dogs a quilt specifically for them, but they have often selected certain quilts as their own. I use quilts as table clothes and there were several that were removed from the table and holes eaten in them where there had been a spill. Of course these quilts with holes are now theirs...
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute quilt and photos - perfect for the Pets on Quilts.
ReplyDeleteJackson appears to be a very happy camper and loves his quilt!
ReplyDeleteso so cute. I have to admit I've made several quilts for my dogs. they love them
ReplyDeleteJackson is the cutest pup!!!!! What a cutie - he deserves his own quilt!
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is perfect for your little friend. Maybe he will stop claiming your other quilts now that he has his own.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Jackson loves his quilt!! What a happy little dog!
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty dawg gone cut, if I do say so myself! Love it! Isn't it fun to make a fun, fun quilt once in awhile, especially in the summer? Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDelete'cute'
DeleteSo cute!! and your dog.... what a character!!
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt. I think the stars are wonderful floating so in the background fabric.
ReplyDeleteAW!!! I love that last picture of him! So cute.

What a lucky little cutie! Very nice!
ReplyDeleteLooks like Jackson gives this quilt five happy woofs! Great job!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, what a darling quilt. I would not have cut that cute fabric either. Now that is one happy pooch! Yeah! For Jackson!
ReplyDeleteOh Val, Jackson is so precious....and no one blames you for making him his own quilt! This is so cute. Congrats on the Friday finish.
ReplyDeleteLucky doggy. I like it when the back of a quilt is as nice as the front.
ReplyDeleteAdorable quilt and adorable little dog! Have a great week-end!

ReplyDeleteJackson very clearly loves his new quilt. It suits him to a T!
ReplyDeleteJackson has impeccable taste!
ReplyDeleteI haven't made a quilt for my dog, but I found something in a thrift shop for him! It has squares of plaid fabrics pieced together for the top, no batting, and the back was brought around to the front to finish the edges and stitched down by machine. It's on the living room floor and my dog knows it is his!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the finish. My daughter thinks it is silly that the dog has his own quilt.
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt. Jackson clearly approves. (By the way, great name for your dog. We have a cat of the same name.)
ReplyDeleteCute quilt! Nothing wrong with making a dog a quilt, plus he seems pretty appreciative!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, Jackson appears to love his quilt - as well he should! Whoop whoop for a great finish!!
ReplyDeleteVery fun quilt! Obviously Jackson is already protective of it.
