Nothing more joyful for me than spending the first snow of the year with kids!
It was so cozy spending the day in our classroom watching the snow fall outside.
The kids of course, anxiously waiting in anticipation of the recess that was soon to come:
And yes, that is an Elf of the Shelf you may have spied in the first picture.
Meet "Elvin"":
He's a mysterious little elf for sure, with a great sense of humor.
He certainly fills our classroom with the magic and joy of the holiday season!
Thinking of you too, hoping your holiday season is filled with a great bundle of:
This week's theme: MITTENS
My sister is a kindergarten teacher in Virginia Beach, where snow is rare. If it starts to snow during the school day, she takes the kids outside, so they can experience it. A lot of the kids haven't ever seen snow, and if they wait until the school day ends, it would likely be melted.
ReplyDeleteI remember being able to take our sleds to school for recess play.
ReplyDeleteOur first snow fell during the night, so pretty. My grandkids are so excited to see the snow. It is 10 degrees right now.

ReplyDeleteThat is neat that you have elf in the shelf in your classroom.
ReplyDeleteI like your classroom... you have a plant and the bank of windows are unobstructed. Artwork hangs on the wall. It's homey.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Oh how fun. I'm sure the kids were excited.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays!
What a fun day Val! It brings back happy memories of the excitement and everyone rushing to the classroom windows to watch the first snowfall.
ReplyDeleteI'll have fun watching what your Elf on the Shelf gets up to. Will he be naughty or nice... haha
ReplyDeleteThe Elf on a Shelf should be fun. One of my kindergarten teacher friends set up a Santa cam in her room--and the behavior has been top notch since then. :0)
ReplyDeleteThe temps have dropped here and I am hoping to see a few flakes. We don't get a whole lot of snow, I am just below the snow line at 2200 feet elevation..... enjoy!
ReplyDeleteplase keep the snow with you we do not want it! My daughter`s neighbour has an elf on the shelf that her little daughter is having such fun with had not heard of this elf till this year
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you! We have had a few days of snow and maybe at the stage where it will stick around for a while! December should be white! I know you are having fun with the holidays!!
ReplyDeleteThat arctic front is on its way to us, our low tonight is supposed to be 19!!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your little elf.
ReplyDeleteSeeing the classroom brings back childhood memories of chalk and glue.
recess and fresh air is such an important part of school.
I know how much fun your kids must have had. How lucky they are to have you for a teacher!!
ReplyDeleteIt's so fun to watch the kiddos playing in the snow. Even the teenager likes snow, but these days it's in hope there will be a snow day!
