Things are gradually getting back to normal around here.
Cranes being used for snow removal on roofs and one lane streets are common right now.
But enough snow has been removed that the kids can get outside to play. Atleast they can play a little basketball and run around on the newly created circular "road" on their playground area.
And those that choose to brave the depths of the snow, worked together to dig out the slide and find themselves able to play on the monkeybars simply by walking along the top of the snow!
(Every now and again, someone will "drop" up to their hips...but they work together to get out.)
So while the kids dig themselves out of snow, I have found myself digging through my stash of reds, whites, pinks, greys and blacks in hopes to create a queen size Valentine themed quilt for our bed as my February One Monthly Goal this month. I have an easy, fat quarter pattern that I've been wanting to make. If I get this cut and sewn into a top this month...that would be awesome goal accomplished!
As always thanks for stopping by!
Setting goals and linking with everyone at OMG:
Wow, I have never seen cranes used to get snow off roofs! Looks cold. Great day to stay inside and sew up a Valentine project.
ReplyDeleteFun fabrics. Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and good luck on your project.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous fabric selection, a little more sophisticated than some of the overtly pink Valentine things one sees. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYou have some pretty creative kids. I'm glad they can finally get out and play. The slide sounds fun...I would give it try :)
ReplyDeleteYou've selected some nice fabrics for your Valentine quilt. I look forward to seeing it. Good luck with your goal.
Yeah they attach a huge tarp and crews shovel snow from the roofs into it...then it's dumped into a truck and hauled away. Crazy hard work I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteKids and snow....a wonderful combination! They sound like they are all having a blast. Love those fabrics, Val. I can't wait to see your Valentine's Quilt on your bed.
ReplyDeleteThose Valentine quilt colors are very pretty. I would never thought of gray. Glad the kids are able to get out. Kids usually have fun in the snow.
ReplyDeletePretty fabrics! What's the pattern that you're thinking of using? I have a fat quarter bundle that I'd like to tackle and could use some suggestions.
ReplyDeleteLovely fabrics you have selected. Cranes!! Wow! coming from a region that never sees snow and we think it is cold at zero degrees that is such an unreal thing to imagine.
ReplyDeletenice collection of fabrics you have there. Good to read the snow is now thawing, the children will certainly njoy playing out. Never seen cranes emoving it from roofs before, do you have to pay for it or do the council do it?
ReplyDeleteOh, I like that pattern, and those fabrics should look wonderful. Have fun with this cheerful, wintertime project.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun project. Good luck with your February OMG. It's good the kids can now get out and burn off some energy.
