My January OMG was to get these finished into a wallhanging that would be completed and
hanging in our home by the end of the month.
Ta Da! With two days to spare, I got 'er done.
Knowing this was my "One Monthly Goal" motivated me to get this one done. I used a variety of random quilting on this one as I didn't want the quilting to be too dense and well, quite honestly, I wasn't in the mood to quilt this weekend. So I kept things simple as I echoed around the mittens and the hearts and quilted small snowflakes on the two snowman blocks.
I didn't want to use a pantograph, yet wanted the effect that it was snowing.
So, I randomly quilted nine larger snowflakes throughout the quilt.
I know there's a ton of different ways I could have really enhanced this quilt if I had taken the time to quilt it, but honestly, sometimes it's just nice to get it done. So, if you ever find yourself in "the neighborhood" know you'll find yourself cozy right here were it now hangs in our guest room:
Grateful for the motivation our monthly linky gave me this month.

Note: This week's Tuesday Archives theme is, ironically: SNOWMEN.
I adore this wall hanging! Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and congrats on your finish.
ReplyDeleteWith the horrible winter you've had, I'd think maybe you rather have a summer wall hanging up. Seriously, though, it's really cute! I love the tipsy tree. And buttons! Swoon!
ReplyDeleteGood finish. Sometimes you just gotta get it done...
ReplyDeleteIt is just the kind of cutsie quilt that needs simple quilting. Congratulations on the finish.
ReplyDeleteFabulous finish, you did great! Jackson wants a tummy rub, sending one from his auntie. I like the way you arranged the blocks, looks great on your wall.
ReplyDeleteIt's always a great feeling to have a finish - your wall hanging looks wonderful
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness this is adorable and so is the ROOM !! AND the model, lol; so darn cute.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! I love seeing it hanging in your home, I also agree that a simple finish is sometimes best.
ReplyDeleteVery fun quilt! I agree--not everything has to have lots of fancy quilting--done is better!
ReplyDeleteYay! Good for you for getting your finish done! I am right there with you when a finish is better than a lot of quilting. Very cute wall hanging, Val!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your lovely finish Val. It looks like it fits in perfectly in the guest room. Time for a new project!
ReplyDeletelooks so good and the quilting works so well fancy would have detracted from the lovely applique
ReplyDeleteGreat finish....things don't have to be overly quilted to be done. And you proved it:)
ReplyDeletevery charming!
ReplyDeleteLove it!!
ReplyDeleteYay! Congratulations on accomplishing your January OMG. It is a fabulous wallhanging, Val.

ReplyDeleteLove that guest room! I'm packing my bags now, will Jackson be allowed to stay in the guest room with me? LOL
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a fun finish! Sometimes it's good to just get it done. It's a nice addition to your guest room.
ReplyDeleteGot 'er done and so much fun! You can always quilt it more later if you are so inclined (told myself that for two quilts, hasn't happened yet!) Between the wallhanging and the quilt on the bed, that room looks cozy. Also great to see that the guest room's personal concierge is Jackson! That's a warm welcome if ever there as one!
