MyTwister is a Flimsy Finish!

It always amazes me that this goes to this (tutorial) and then to the above.
How about you? What part of quilting just makes ya sit back&say: "Wow...this is so cool!"
I can't wait to quilt and bind this one.
Wishing everyone a great day!
Val:)

Seriously Cute Happy Mail!!!

I checked my mailbox on the way in the door yesterday and knew right away one of Vicki's teeny tiny zipper pouches had been delivered! I fell in love with her little pouches and couldn't resist highlighting them at Tuesday Archives for our Craft theme.
When she offered to make me one I couldn't resist saying yes. I love that she made it to match my classroom colors of black and green. Isn't the little check fabric fun?! I immediately packed it with my favorite chap stick, a few band-aids, some mini post-it's and hooked it on my school lanyard! I'm going to be the envy around school for sure.
Thank you Vicki! You made my day!!
With smiles,
Val:)

My Twister WIP & Tutorial

Some of you have asked me "how" I go from this layer cake flimsy:
(with the addition of a 6" border)
...to this:

I use this Twister Template:

As you begin to sew your rows together and put them on your design wall (or floor) you'll begin to see your pinwheels emerge:
I hope this little step by step tutorial helped answer some of your "how do ya make it" questions. It's fun and easy, with instant gratification. I plan to have it all put together for another Friday Finish...so do stop by again.
With smiles!

ALYofF June Goal/A Dog Themed Quilt

When he wasn't distracted by the squirrels...

...or continously barking at me
as I let him roll around in a pile of dog themed fabric...

I think Jackson agrees this collection of "dog" fabrics  are begging to be made into an adorable quilt!  I'm going to let myself play and see what I come up with as I claim getting this pile of  fabric transformed into a small quilt top as my June ALYofF goal.
With Smiles,
Val & Jackson
