As I begin to write this post it occurs to me: "I've never made a twin size quilt!"
My daughter and I have starting discussing doing such as her boys get bigger and she moves them into bunk beds. So though I still have a while, it doesn't hurt to start looking for ideas now, right?Mattress Sizes. Good to know
This skateboard quilt found at KS Designgirls Blog does inspire me to start collecting some design ideas to share with my daughter and grand guys as they get older.

I few weeks ago, while searching for new Tuesday Archive themes, I saw these adorable cactus pin cushions at Diane's Butterfly Threads Blog and just thought they were adorable!
Diane has a complete tutorial on her blog. Click HERE to check it out.
\
She also made these fun selvage pincushions too!
I seriously don't know why I haven't made more pin cushions. I think I may have two to link this week? Hmmm....I'll have to search my archives. Diane shared even more links with me, that I'll be sure to include in out linky party below. Thanks for helping me with this week's highlights Diane and Happy Tuesday everyone!

This week's theme is: Marking Tools
LOL! Oh I love when I'm late to my own party! Especially, when I'm really looking forward to this week's linky theme. Seriously, I've YET to find a marking tool that I like.
I've used pencils, pens and even chalk...but no favorite yet.
Lea Anne who blogs at Poduck Pretties wrote a helpful post  last week that highlighted markers AND included a detailed variety of ways to get rid of a stubborn stain left behind! Arg! I think I would cry.

This week's theme is: Modern Quilts
A quote from the Modern Quilt Guild helps us define the genre today:
"Modern Quilters bring a new bold new aethetic to a craft dominated by traditional and art quilting. The clean lines and stylish color schemes prevalent in modern quilting appeal to fans of sophisticated modern design."
This is our second time visiting this theme, the last being two years ago.
From that linky, I found Jasmine's modern take on the traditional Farmer's Wife:

Tuesday Archive #179: Machine Binding

. If you are new to our linky, click over the here to read the details about this fun, weekly linky party. (You can also check out all our past Tuesday Archives themes by clicking right here.)

This week's theme is: Machine Binding

I have yet to master the "art" of machinge binding. Seriously, though I prefer the look of handing binding, machine binding is a bit more durable for all the toddler quilts I make. Yet,  I can never get that beautiful, straight finish on the reverse side. Anyhooo.... this is my "go to" tutorial, by Allison at Cluck Cluck Sew, that I use when I do finish a quilt using machine binding.
I appreciate her step by step, illustrated directions.

This week's theme is: Bowtie Quilts
This week's highlight is a bowtie quilt made by our blogging friend Sharon who blogs at Vroomans Quilts. These bow ties were all made from her son's flannel shirts! I love that!
I've not yet tried a bow tie pattern but after seeing Sharon's quilt and watching tutorials on line, this looks like a quick and easy, scrap busting pattern.
