Click the picture to read more!

Next, the lull of summer has hit, which means more time for me to spend in my sewing studio.
Here's what's on my design wall this week:
Yep, summer is a good time for me to restock my "baby gift" drawer.
( I got three out of four done...not bad!)
It's not often we get a break from the routines of life.
Yet, this next three weeks finds me with such luxury and I plan to take full advantage of it.
I hope ya stop by often and perhaps find a little inspiration here too.

LINKY: 3rd Annual Piggy Bank Savings = Money for Quilting Challenge

Many of your are familiar with the water jug vs. the pig competition that goes on in our household.
.Click the picture to read more!
It started out innocent enough when three years ago I bought this little silver piggy bank to collect laundry change (and extra change from around the house). Well two summers ago, he was full and I cashed in at $102.45! I, of course, put my "savings" to good use and stocked up on fabric!!!

Well, once my husband found out how much I saved in my  little piggy bank he started his own "bank of change".But, he also read somewhere that if you throw in a dollar or even five dollar bill once in a while, you can literally double your savings.

So over the past two years, between us, we have saved a modest $530.00. Now, I realize that doesn't even compare to some of the awesome savings accomplished by a few of this years participants. I mean Katie who blogs at Karma Willow Designs saved $1,104.00!!! She got herself one of these babies: (And a lot more fun quilty stuff!! ) Man, good job Katie!!

But I'm a penny pincher, always have been, and the occasional "treat" my piggy gives me is fun! I mean Katie seriously impressed and inspired me and she will you too. (Here's a quick link to her penny pinching ways right here ). But for me and many of you I read, even $50 bucks saved in change means a wonderful quilty treat in the end! And, WOW! Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's challenge here. It really is amazing the amount we can save in just a year! (And please do email me if you didn't get you "bonus" savings promo code to Fabrics N Quilts)

So... Now it's time to join/rejoin the Piggy Bank Challenge!

Note: This Linky is open until  August 1st.
So spread the word to all your readers/followers as well!

You know what they say:  a penny saved is a penny earned.
It's been fun to extend the challenge to all of you  and am looking forward to seeing who links up.

A Friday Finish thru Jackson's Eyes

" You think if I lay here and look really cute, she'll stop quilting so we can go for a walk?

Psstt...ya want to know a little secret: Mom has had this quilt hanging in the closet for three years.

She finallllyyyy got it quilted. I'm so proud of her!
(She loves this Mary Englebright fabric, so I'm glad it's finally done for us to use.)

And ya want to know the best part?
I get to snuggle under these fun dots on the back.
Yep...I'm such a lucky dog!

Well, mom said I did a good job posting her finish today and as you can tell by my blurry (wagging) tail in the picture below, it's time for that walk!! Thanks Mom and thank you guys for stopping by mom's blog. I know she enjoys your visits and always passes on your tummy rubs (Carole!) and comments.
Hope your day includes something that makes your tail wag too!

What Do You Like About Your Space?

I finally got this one back on the frame and have been enjoying a morning of quilting.

I was so happy to have found a pantograph that matches the Mary Englebright flowers:

Our unseasonal heat has gone away, replaced with 66-70 degrees temperatures. Our skys are filled with an overcast of clouds along with intermindent sprinkles. I love that since moving the long-arm to this side of the room I can open the windows and enjoy the fresh air! I am conforted my the smell of  summer rain  and the sounds of summer lawns being mowed and birds busy tending their nests.
As with any sewing space, there's always those pros and cons aren't there? Mine being in a basement, it is definitely one of my favorite things to throw open the windows and enjoy a day of sewing with fresh air at my back.  So, being the curious Nelly that I am, I know we all have different sewing spaces. Some in attics, some in bedrooms, some in basements. They all have their pros and cons don't they?  So I ask: "What is the favorite thing about your sewing space?"
